About the AMT Registry

1. What is the AMT Registry?

   The Air Medical Transport Registry is a database of contact information and other basic data for all known medical transport flight programs in the United States. Any organization that transports patients in aircraft with a medical crew in attendance is elligible for inclusion. Other nations will be added as the information becomes available.

2. Where did the data come from?

   The original data was compiled by UCAN (Chicago, IL) staff as part of a safety committee project that analyzed air medical accidents. Most records do not contain complete data, so search results will not be completely accurate.

   This project was published as a supplement to the AMPA (Air Medical Physicians Association) Handbook in 2002, which can be downloaded as a .pdf file.

3. How is this different from the AAMS program directory or the National Air Medical Services Database for Trauma Transport ?

   The AAMS program directory contains similar information of AAMS member flight programs only. ADAMS (Atlas & Database of Air Medical Services) contains geographical and other information about helicopter medical transport services.

4. There's an error or missing information in a record. How can I change that?

   There is a button labeled, "Request a change to this record" at the bottom of the page when a record detail is displayed. Click on this button to display a form for editing that record. You must have a FlightWeb account and must be logged in to submit a change request. You may be contacted by one of the Registry Editors to verify the change.

Usage and Search instructions

1. Basic Searches

   The basic search form is on the AMT Home page. Use this form to quickly display records based on program name, city and/or state.

2. Record Details

   To display the detail view of a record, click on the "Details" icon shown in the search results table.

3. Advanced Searches

   You can search the Registry on any number of fields by using the Advanced Search form. Use this form to search for aircraft types, vendors, flight crew configurations, and more.

4. Bases

   Records in the Registry are based on organization, not on individual base locations.

   To display programs with bases in a particular state, use the state abbreviation followed by a semicolon (ie. 'AZ;' for programs with bases in Arizona.)

5. Aircraft types

   Use the manufacturer's official number (ie. 355 for TwinStar, 119 for Koala, etc.) to search for organizations with a particular aircraft model.

   • Find the programs operated by Air Methods that use a BK117, search using the following field entries:
     Rotorwing Model: 117
     Rotorwing Operator: Air Methods
   • Find the programs that offer rotorwing, fixed-wing, and ground transport using the following:
     Rotor-wing service: Y
