Life Flight Des Moines is an EC-145 program based at Iowa Methodist Medical Center/Blank Children's Hospital in Des Moines Iowa, part of the Iowa Health System. Life Flight, Central Iowa's first helicopter program with a 30 year history, is seeking a full time Flight Paramedic to join our progressive teams which include NICU, Pediatric, and Adult Critical Care compositions. Crews currently work 12hr and 24 hr shifts providing support within the Medical center and transports.
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years full-time paramedic experience, preferably in a large metropolitan area.
Previous flight experience preferred
Current state of Iowa Paramedic Certification
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Current Advanced Life Support (ACLS) Certification
Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification
Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification
CCP and/or FP-C preferred
Complies with weight restrictions (maximum 215 pounds fully outfitted to perform the job)
Available to work required weekend and holiday hours as directed by department policy
Ability to work independently in a high stress environment using aggressive protocols.
Selected candidates will be invited to take a written Critical Care exam. Those passing the exam will be invited to interview.
