Angel MedFlight Worldwide Air Ambulance Services is currently seeking (Flight Coordinators / RN Case Managers) to coordinate, develop, maintain, and promote effective communication methods with other case managers, hospitals, flight crew, and individuals needing Domestic and International Air & Ground Medical Transportation. These dynamic positions will require professionals with a strong medical background, a capacity to multitask, carry out items in an order of precedence, and understand and connect with the emotions of others as they experience traumatic events in their lives.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Receive requests for Air & Ground Medical Transportation
- Fully understand the case managers, hospitals, social workers, patients, or family member’s logistical and emotional positions
- Obtain a comprehensive understanding of the patients medical condition
- Determine the most appropriate means of medical transportation based upon the patient’s condition and fiscal availability
- Arrange for a Receiving Hospital & Receiving Physician
- Obtain Insurance Precertification & Authorizations for transportation
- Dictate Medical Necessity Forms for Medical Transportation
- Prepare Quotes & Invoices
- Receive Payments
- Coordinate the most appropriate airport FBO’s to utilize for Flight Crews based upon fuel prices, resources available, and destination of the patient. (An aviation flight support specialist will assist with these efforts)
- Ensure medical flight crews receive all the appropriate information necessary to execute a safe & efficient air medical mission
- Track all aircraft positioning & ensure Flights are conducted within the Code of Federal Regulations
- Guarantee both sending hospitals, receiving hospitals, patient, and family members are held within close communications
- Remain resourceful at all times
