OB AirMed Nursing Supervisor

Job Summary 
 
 When you work as the OB AirMed Nursing Supervisor with the University of Utah Healthcares AirMed Department, you have the opportunity to work side by side with other world-class professionals, develop your career and be part of the most renowned Flight Program in the Intermountain Region.
 
AirMed's main base is The University of Utah Hospital, an academic medical center, Level I Trauma Center, Regional Burn Center and major tertiary referral site. Awarded International AAMS 2006 Air Medical Transport Program of the Year, we remain committed to provide a unique experience that allows for continued growth and professional development. AirMed has grown into an outstanding air medical transport service which currently utilizes a combination of four rotor- and two fixed-wing aircraft from six locations throughout the state to transport approximately 2500 patients per year. Due to our high volume and acuity of High Risk OB flights we have one of only four dedicated High Risk OB flight teams in the country. Plus, Utahs natural landscape and climate enables our flight team to utilize a device known as a Long Range Receiver in avalanche rescues.
 
The OB AirMed Nursing Supervisor will have a current RN license and 3 years plus of flight or OB experience as well as management experience. In addition, the ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, marketing and customer relationship skills. Preference will be given to those with OB flight experience. 
 
 Responsibilities 
 Under minimal supervision manage the clinical operation of the OB AirMed Team.
 
Act on behalf of the Hospital Administrative staff to coordinate hospital services by making decisions which positively impact patient care.
 
Act as a resource to Hospital personnel in all areas of patient care management and utilization of resources.
 
Ensures that care is delivered to each patient in accordance to the University of Utah Guidelines.
 
Provides effective leadership to the AirMed OB team.
 
Demonstrates strong and effective managerial techniques/skills in established lines of authority.
 
Demonstrates maturity and accountability for job performance.
 
Supports the philosophy, objectives and goals of the Department(s) and assesses areas of personal and professional growth.
 
Supports and promotes excellence in customer/guest relations. 
 
Qualifications 
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, or equivalency; three years of nursing experience; current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Utah; Basic Life Support Health Care Provider card or obtain one within one month of hire; and demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills are also required.
 
This position requires a sound knowledge of nursing practice and exceptional leadership abilities.

The Community
