Children's National Medical Center, Division of Transport Medicine, is seeking a dynamic and visionary individual to join our leadership team as the Clinical Nurse Manager. The role of Clinical Nurse Manager provides 24/7, day-to-day oversight of our EMT, paramedic, nursing, and communications center staff. Working within the Division’s leadership team, the Manager will implement and direct objectives within our strategic plan. The individual will provide clinical expertise to ensure our teams are knowledgeable, competent and are executing world class care as the ambassadors of "the nation's children's hospital".
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience in critical care transport and demonstrate progressive management experience. At least 2 years of clinical experience must be in pediatric/neonatal care as part of a dedicated team or generalist transport team that includes the care of children.
Education and experience preferences include: completion of a BSN, a master's degree in nursing, education, business, or healthcare administration, CMTE, and knowledge of CAMTS standards with previous experience working within a CAMTS accredited culture.
The candidate must be eligible for DC, VA, and MD RN licensure. Additional certification as a nationally registered paramedic is preferred. Completion of at least one advanced certification such as CCRN, CFRN, or CTRN is highly preferred. AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS is required.
The candidate must demonstrate excellent communication, presentation and human relations skills with proven leadership in a high volume and dynamic transport environment. Management experience working within a union environment is preferred.
