A new exhibit focused on flight nurses during World War II opened at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force in Dayton, Ohio. The Winged Angels: U.S. Army Air Forces Flight Nurses in World War II exhibit, located in the museum’s Air Power Gallery, tells the story of the 500 Army nurses who served as members of 31 medical air evacuation transport squadrons during the war.
A public memorial will be held on Wednesday, March 31 at 10 a.m. at Bellevue Baptist Church, 2000 Appling Road for the three crew members who died in last Thursday’s Hospital Wing helicopter accident.
The public is invited and asked to arrive early to ensure everyone gets seated by 10 a.m.
“These individuals served the entire Mid-South area and there has been a huge outpouring of support,” said Jamie Carter, CEO of Crittenden Regional Hospital and Hospital Wing Board member.
In lieu of flowers, any who wish to make a donation are asked to send it to Hospital Wing, 1080 Eastmoreland, Memphis, Tenn. 38104.

On Thursday, March 25, 2010, three Hospital Wing crew members were killed in a helicopter crash nears Brownsville, TN. On board were Pilot Doug Phillips and flight nurses Misty Brogdon and Cindy Parker. This site has been blacked out as a tribute to our fallen colleagues.
