This includes EMS Pilots, Flight Nurses, Flight Medics, Flight RTs, Flight MDs, Comm Specs, Maintenance, Administration, and all others involved in the air medical transport industry. The primary goal of the site is to provide timely news, information, and resources. In addition, communications between the various specialties are facilitated by hosting forums such the Flightmed mailing list.

Five Aereas de Colombia crew members were killed in a fixed-wing crash near Villavicencio, Columbia on Wednesday, Mar 12, 2014. The pilot had reported a mechanical failure and the Beechcraft C-90 crashed on approach for an emergency landing. On board were the pilot, co-pilot, physician and two nurses.
