Looking to hear opinions on the Piper Cheyenne (specifically Cheyenne II) as a medevac aircraft..... What do you like and not like? How does it compare against other common platforms? Are they known for any common problems? Much appreciated !

Compared to a Cessna 414 or 421 they are roomy and have turbines. Compared to a King Air they are old, small and underpowered. Most outfits that still fly them have spares 'cause they are down for maintenance so much. Just the facts with such an old airframe design.

Ditto what Ken said....

There is NOTHING to like about these aircraft.

OLD, outdated, maintenance hogs, always breaking down...........Any company who uses these are trying to do things the cheapest way possible and you should run far away...........

They have been phased out in our area (Pilatus PC 12 being the aircraft currently en vogue) - but were used way back. We used to call it the Cheyenne "Too" - as in "Too Small". Particularly for us doing dedicated neo / peds and the incubator.

Thanks everyone for the opinions.... I more or less thought so but it's good to get some verification. Love the PC-12..... Favorite aircraft by a long shot.
