Regarding the new (10/2009) FAR part 61 Sec 61.57, has anyone figured out the actual definition of a 'night vision goggle operation'?

It's obvious as a helicopter operator we have to complete six 'night vision goggle operations' during the previous two calendar months to carry passengers. However, what is a NVG operation?

I think it is the completion of a climbout, cruise, decent and approach. I can't find that in writing though. Any help?
