I was hoping we could get a list together of recommeded texts on one thread. Yes I have tried the search function, for the last three hours. I am looking for top quality, up to date materials that "dig deeper" into many of the issues discussed here (ACS, CHF, pharm, airway/anesthesia, etc.) Thanks in advance!

In addition to what's already been stated:

Thelan's Critical Care Nursing

Manual of Pediatric Critical Care (Hazinski; I've never read her longer text)

Essentials of Mechanical Ventilation

Manual of Emergency Airway Management

S.T.A.B.L.E (neonatal post-resuscitation/pre-transport stabilization): Okay, this one's kind of cookbook PALS/NRP/ACLS format, but useful. A good, short course BTW.

Manual of Emergency Airway Management

Harrison's

Cecil Essentials of Medicine

Special Operations Forces Medical Handbook

Essentials of Mechanical Ventilation by Kacmarek, Hess is a quality text with up to date technical information and solid mechancial ventilation science. The authors are both RTs with a decades long history of critical care and educational experience. Of the texts I have used/reviewed, it presents a format to gain knowledge about ventilation and ventilators in general rather than brand specific knowledge. This aids the user in understanding current methods, modes and machines as well as future development and new equipment.
