As we all try to comprehend and deal with what happened last week, we are saddened and at a loss for words. For days I kept hoping that I was dreaming and would wake up and it would not be true. But, we live in the real world. My love and support goes out to the family and friends of Brandon, Jonathon and Jennifer.
I feel blessed to have flown and known both, Jonathon and Brandon. Jonathon, with whom I had flown with twice on neonatal transports, was always so positive, caring and talked about how he loved his job----- this was his dream. Brandon on the other hand was quiet, polite and had a beautiful smile. Jennifer, I never had the privilege of meeting, but I feel I knew her in the sense that we have something in common, we care about people and it evolves around flying. These three people will be greatly missed and we are proud of them.
So every time I climb into a plane, I will think of them and know that there are three special angels watching over all the flight teams and myself.
Brandon, Jennifer and Jonathon, thank-you for touching my life and making it richer.

I want to express my deepest sorrow to the family, friends, and co-workers for the loss of a crew EagleMed4.
They were individuals dedicated to helping others. A lot of people take our work for granted until they see for themselves just what we do everyday and how we risk our lives to save others. In this time of sorrow I refer back to a poam that I have saved and it seems to help.
"The Dash"
I read of a reverend who stood to speak at the funeral of his friend. He referred to the date on her tombstone from the beginning... to the end.
He noted that first came the date of her birth and spoke of the date with tears but he said what mattered most of all was the dash between those years.
For that dash represents all the time that she spent alive on earth, and now only those who loved her know what that little line is worth.
For it matters not how much we own; the cars, the house, the cash. What matters is how we live and loved and how we spend our dash.
So think about this long and hard, Are there things you'd like to change? For you never know how much time is left You could be at "dash mid-range"
If we could just slow down enough to consider what's true and real, and always try to understand the way other people feel, and be less quick to anger, show appreciation more and love the people in our life like we've never loved before.
If we treat each other with respect, more often wear a smile remembering that this special dash might only last a little while.
So when your eulogy is being read with your life's actions to rehash... would you be pleased with the things they say about how you spent your dash?
I would like to offer this "Last Call" to the crew of EM4. As they have surrendered their flight wings in trade for the wings of angels. You all have been a wonderful example of unselfish, and lasting public servants at great risk to yourselves every day. May you have beautiful blue sky’s and God Speed on your final flight home. We will miss you all and will never forget.

To the families of Jon, Brandon, and Jennifer and to the Eagle Med 4 staff please know that we are thinking of you daily. Being in SW Kansas these professionals responded often to our facility. Brandon Occ. rode in to the hospital with the med crew and gave us a chance to know him. Jen for a time was also a member of our family at MDH & Jon was a member of our family for a long time as a RRT and was almost finished with his nursing degree and was coming back to us part time to rejoin our family. So we truly do join in your pain as you mourn. On Tuesday Feb. 17, 2004 the world lost 3 wonderful people and at that same instance God gained 3 wonderful angles to watch over us all as we continue to help others.

I have had the honor of dispatching for this exceptional group of people for 5-1/2 years. When EagleMed started their own dispatch center in January, it was difficult to be separated from our family. All of those years were spent getting to know them and wanting to protect them. But we relished in the fact that we would still be able to see some of them on occasion and know they were ok. Now our hearts ache from the loss of three members of our family. Three special people who will be with us forever watching over us.
To my family, the crews of EagleMed, and to the family and friends of Brandon, Jonathan and Jennifer, please know that you are in my thoughts everyday.

If there were ways to show love, a heart, a portrait of an angel protecting the people, I feel that the crew of the downed Eagle Med could not have their pictures included. The sacrifices that all in this field are willing to make are luckily made only by a precious few. There lives while never regained shall live on in the lives of those to whom did not die due to their uncaring and diligent work, it is in those that they shall never die. It is therefore with the heaviest of hearts i can only offer condolences to the families and prayers for the crew, GOD BLESS YOU and the work that you have done.

When Jon started working at Wesley Medical Center as a Respiratory Therapist, his knowledge, his skill, and his caring for his patients was always his priority, but not his passion. All he wanted to do was transport. He left Wesley to acomplish this goal, he was going to achieve his dream, his passion. I will never forget when he called me from Arizona when his dream started to unfold, or the first time I saw him bring in a patient to Wesley's Trauma Unit , he was glowing with pride smiling ear to ear. As a Level 4 Trauma Center in S.E. Colorado, we are geograpghically isolated from the larger trauma centers. Over the past few years we have become dependant on the excellent flight teams from Eaglemed to transport our most citically ill or injured patients. It's not unusual to see them several times a week. We have worked closely with them to save lives which otherwise would have been lost. In doing so, they have become our extended family. Our shock, disbelief, and sorrow at the loss of these three fine people has been echoed in all of the above entries. It is with heavy heart that i add our expression of deepest sympathy and sorrow for your loss. My heart goes out to the family and friend of those who died doing the job they loved. Several current and ex-staff members of your program are personal friends of mine. Hearing the pain in their voices still brings me to tears. We take care of patients without giving it a second thought...don't forget each other now...and know we haven't either.

To the family, friends, and fellow crew members at Eagle Med. I am a medic at Southern Oklahoma Ambulance Service in Ardmore Oklahoma. We lost 2 of our finest employees about 18months ago in an accident, I feel your pain. When I heard about your accident from one of your medics, my heart sunk and my stomach has been in knots all day. All I can tell you is that your pain willl ease but they will always be in your thoughts. If I learned anything from our tragedy that I can pass on to you, it is this: What you once knew as normal will never be the same, they will be a new normal. So gauge your day on the new normal, but never forget.

Voltaire said, "Those who are occupied in the restoration of health to others by the joint exertion of skill and humanity are above all the great of the earth. They even partake of divinity; since to preserve and renew, is almost as noble as to create." In this time of grief and loss - may these words resonate and perhaps - reassure - to remind you of the noble work your colleagues were doing - and - that they would desire you to continue to do.
