This loss is beyond words, soo many lives have been touched by these heroes. Having stood across from these crew members in the field, I am reminded of the great relief they have delivered time and again to our small rural crew. In the midst of the most terrible scenes, there was no sweeter sound than the clatter of that chopper echoeing through the canyons. My endless thanks to you all! It is with the heaviest of hearts, that I send my most sincere condolences.

I wish I had words that would ease the pain of such a loss, but nothing I can say will take the pain you all are feeling away. I can only express my deepest sorrow at the needless loss of our comrades in flight. I would like to extend our condolences and deepest sympathy to the families and loved ones of those lost. It is rare that someone gets to work in a job that they truly have a passion for and it is always sad when a co-worker or friend dies in the line of duty, but it is important to remember that not only they were doing what they loved, but that the world is a better place because of their efforts. Our hearts go out to the entire Classic team, the friends, co-workers and families and loved ones of our fallen colleagues lost in this tragic event. Please know you are all in our thoughts. Tom, James and Tom’s passion and dedication will be missed by everyone.

Tom Caldwell, one of my very favorite pilots I had the honor to fly with. I can still remember him giving me my first safety brief in the Agusta 119 Koala. You always took care of your medical team and were a true professional. I'm sorry we never had the chance to enjoy a home cooked Korean meal together as we always talked about. To my friends and past coworkers,

I had to reflect awhile before writing this. Classic Lifeguard is such a small company; working there it is hard to not regard your fellow crew members as part of your family. I know that this recent loss is devastating for all crew members both past and present. I always felt comfortable flying with Tom and enjoyed working with him. I looked forward to going to work there and thought of it as one of the best jobs I have ever held. Even though I have not worked there in several years, I feel the loss as if I had just left. My deepest sympathies to the families and coworkers of those who risked, and ultimately lost their lives doing what they loved. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Again, another crew that I did not know, but the loss remains a severe blow.

It is 10 years since I flew with MedSTAR in Washington, DC, but still, my heart and soul is with the crews out there today. "There, but for the grace of God, go I." or the crews that I flew with for 10 years, MY family.

My prayers go out to all of you who continue to take up the mission, you are true American HEROES! For the families and loved ones left behind, I wish you comfort, and peace in the knowledge that your loved ones died doing what they loved and most likely, wouldn't have it any other way. As many have said, "No greater gift has man, than to lay down his life for another..."

The Black Screen beckons sadness and reflection. Having lost a friend and co-worker in the Access Air crash, the sorrow now repeats. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of the heros that so selflessly gave of themselves. My deepest condolences to the Classic Lifeguard family. Although it has been almost five years, I constantly think about the good times and great people that always made Classic a safe and great place to work. My heart is saddened and broken with the loss of the crew. My wife and I had discussed the possibility of me returning to Classic the evening before the accident. Tom C, thank you for the friendship and great flights. Im grateful for the opportunity to have flown with you. I'll never forget the "practice auto" into Page upon our return from UMC Vegas. May the heros families and Classic know that you are in our prayers. Know that they are watching over you. Spread your wings and fly. God Speed

Miss Me - But Let Me Go

When I come to the end of the road And the sun has set for me, I want no rites in a gloom-filled room, Why cry for a soul set free.

Miss me a little, but not too long, And not with your head bowed low. Remember the love that we once shared, Miss me, but let me go.

For this journey that we all must take, And each must go alone. It's all a part of the Master's plan, a step on the road to home.

When we are lonely and sick at heart, Go to the friends we know, And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds, Miss me, but let me go.

Words cannot express the heartfelt sorrow that all of us who have been a part of this industry feel at such a time as this. Having stood across from these crew members and aircraft on the helipad at Flagstaff brings back alot of memories of warmth, smiles and greetings. My sympathy, thoughts and prayers go out to these beloved crew members and friends, and their collegues and families. We all share in your loss.

    Tom Caldwell-
How often, back those many years ago, you and I stood and mourned someone we knew. We've been out of touch for nearly 20 years, and this is a heck of a way to show back up in my life, buddy. I know if you had to go, giving your life saving another was the way you'd have chosen. I guess after all the close calls and literal bullets you dodged on this earth you'll find new adventures in heaven. Go with God, and look me up when I get there.
