THE Advanced Airway Course was developed by, Diane F. Fojt. It is an 8-hour program designed to enhance the knowledge and skill level of the emergency provider through didactic and hands on format. The morning session reviews respiratory pathophysiology from basic to advanced, RSI induction methods and pharmacology. The afternoon session consists of case presentations, graphic field video of advanced airway management and class interaction/problem solving to enhance critical thinking in difficult situations. The rest of the afternoon is spent in lab practicing: oral/nasal/digital/inverse/retrograde/LMA/Combi tube/surgical cric intubations on tracheas. This course incorporates 'tricks of the trade' that will capture the airway when everything else fails. Come learn from our field experts.
