It’s Not Too Late…Join or Sponsor a Vision Zero Rider in the 2010 National EMS Memorial Bike Ride, May 15-22, Today! Remember, All Roads Lead to D.C.!
MedEvac Foundation International and Vision Zero have joined forces with the Muddy Angels for the 2010 National EMS Memorial Bike Ride (NEMSMBR), May 15-22. This annual bike ride honors emergency medical services personnel via various cycling events throughout the country. The cycle rides are designed to memorialize and celebrate the lives of those EMS personnel who selflessly risk their lives every day, and those who have become sick or injured, or who have died in the line of duty.
Vision Zero is an air medical transport safety awareness initiative of the MedEvac Foundation International and the Association of Air Medical Services that focuses on proactively building greater safety in air-medical transport.
The program’s goal is to have zero air medical transport accidents of consequence through crew education, awareness, and vigilance.
"Vision Zero is excited to ride beside the Muddy Angels in the National EMS Memorial Bike Ride,” said Jonathan Godfrey, chair of the Vision Zero program. “The air medical flight community has participated in the ride the past several years, and we recognize the sacrifice of crew members lost in the line of duty. This year we will formally unite as a team to show support for the EMS community, and we are hoping that our colleagues, families and friends will join us either in the ride itself or by sponsoring a rider.”
Major routes for the ride include the Portland, Maine, and Bennington, V.T., route which winds through New Hampshire, Connecticut, New York, Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Maryland to Washington, D.C., and the Kentucky route, which travels through West Virginia and Virginia to
There are several ways to join TEAM VISION ZERO and receive an Official NEMSMBR/ Vision Zero Jersey:
