On May 9, 2006 Rural Metro Colorado's ground CCT unit was involved in a severe accident. They were returning to the Denver area with a critically ill high risk OB patient. The crash killed the CCT nurse Karen Wood's and injured the EMT and Paramedic. Also killed was a patients family member. The patient being transported was also injured and airlifted to a Denver hospital. Services for Karen are being held Saturady May 13, 2006 at 10 am in Castle Rock, CO
