Maryland considers restrictive rules for emergency air transports
    on Thursday, March 13 2003 @ 22:14

In the NewsMaryland state officials are proposing new rules to govern on-scene and interfacility air transports.

The Maryland State Police wants to continue to do the majority of on-scene responses and restrict the private operators in the area to mainly interfacility transfers. The private air ambulance services, including MedStar and STAT Medevac, are concerned that politics are getting in the way of proper patient care.
