Re: ER 11/20 HELICOPTER CRASH
I don't think it necessarily reflects negatively on our industry,
helicopters do unfortunately crash on occasion. I watched the episode with
my family, and answered lots of questions after. I suppose even though they
understand there are risks involved, having them shown graphically on TV is
a totally different thing. I know it made my stomach tie in knots.
I do think that the portrayal of the Flight Nurse who was left behind,
ignoring his own injuries to treat someone else was a positive thing with a
positive message.
I would be interested in some Pilot input as to the causes, procedures and
progression of the crash sequence. I wonder what we can learn from a
simulated accident.?
