Mike -

I know we've discussed this already but just in case someone else has
similar images and might be considering sharing them with others, I
think this is a valuable discussion to have. Again, I'm not trying to
change your mind on posting to a website, but the points I want to make
might help someone else out.

First, you can upload and share only those images that you want to
share. If you have some valuable pictures that have identifying company
information, you might blur out the company name or logo. Same goes for
images with patients; make sure you blur out any references that might
be used to identify the patient's identity.

Second, once you send those images out on CD to as many people as you
have already, it's extremely likely that they may be passed on to other
people anyway. Who knows what happens after that. The point is,
if there's anything that you don't want in the "wrong hands", it shouldn't
be given to anyone when it comes to digital media.

Finally, there are tons of images of car crashes, airplane crashes, and
really graphic trauma images readily available on the Internet. I think
the benefit of sharing this information with others in the industry to
be used in safety training, classes, etc. far outweighs the minor risk
that the images will just go into the larger pool of similar images on
the Internet.
