In the past I have flown aircraft equipped w/ sirens and Loudhailers. The siren is sometimes useful particularly at night. On rare occasions I have used the siren to get the attention of ground personnel (police or fire) - eg. motion them to the pilots window to assist, ask question or deliver a message.
