In North Carolina, EMS, including air medical and
specialty care ground transport, is governed by the North Carolina Office of
Emergency Medical Services, Department of Facility Services, Health and Human
Services.
The Office of EMS is guided by an Advisory Council
composed of EMS medical directors, EMS directors, government appointed
individuals and a member of the North Carolina Medical Board. There are a
total of 25 members. The composition of the members and who they represent is
set in NC Administrative Code (law). There is not a seat on the Council to
represent the air medical community.
My question to the group is in your state, on what
councils, committees, etc... of governmental agencies does the air medical
community have a seat or is represented?
Thanks. This information will be used by the
North Carolina Air Alliance (NC Air Medical providers) to lobby for a permanent
seat on the NC EMS Advisory Council.
