RE: nitric oxide

Well you can prob get the nitous from any welding suppy shop. The set up we use to use 7 or 8
years ago when i was a medic in Iowa was i believe Nitonox. I think the set up came from EMP, not sure how ever. From a personal stand point it didnt work all that well, pts hated the taste, you had to use a demand valve to give i. With Fentynal and other short acting narcotics and the like its not worth the cost the 2 or 3 times a year it gets used. We used more checking the tanks than we ever used on pts. That and the demand valve had to be locked up in the drug box to keep people (staff) from using it.

Does anyone on the list (more importantly from Colorado) know of a good delivery system and a supplier for nitric oxide? I am trying to implement it as part of our protocols and need to do some pricing and research. Thanks, Bryan Hess NREMT-P
