StarFlight in Austin, Texas has a very interesting survival training
program. All I know about it is what I read in news articles back in May
of this year. Although it might seem a little extreme, I can't imagine a
better preparation for a post-crash survival situation. Essentially, a
flight crew had to land without prior warning, exit the aircraft and spend
the night using only what they took from the aircraft. Here's a link to
more articles on it, since they had a TV news crew with them the entire
time!
