Pilots wearing masks
Sorry but I couldn't resist posting this picture.
Here in Ontario we have been dealing with SARS for a
while and our new guidelines state that the pilots wear
N95 masks for the duration of transport of suspect
patients. Many new guidelines have been developed, and
are available on-line @
http://www.ona.org/sars/0513dir_prehospital_care.pdf
The virulence of this virus has been quite amazing, and
it's effects on pre-hospital care have been significant.
I have written an article on this subject which should
appear in the next edition of Canadian Emergency News
and I will submit it shortly to JEMS. (Any idea who I
should talk to?)
Any questions on the SARS subject, just e-mail me.
