Re: pay

Danny,
Our flight program is hospital based and the nurses are on the same
scale as the rest of the hospital. We are given a base salary and
have the option of obtaining an additional $5.00/hr based upon
certifications. The full increase requires either a Masters degree or
a specialty cert (CCRN, CFRN, CEN, etc.) We are reimbursed for ongoing
certification costs for ACLS, PALS, etc, Specialty certs are only
reimbursed for the initial exam fee, recerts are paid by the
employees. ACLS, PALS, NRP, EMT-P, and a bachelor's degree are all
awarded 15-60 points each. 60 points will give you approx $1.75, 90
points will give you $2.50, and 120 points will give you the full $5.00
per hour in addition to our base wages. With the job requirements,
most of us automatically have at least 60-90 points. I hope this is
helpful. Write back if you need any further info.

Andrew Bartkus, RN, BSN, CEN, CCRN, CFRN, NREMT-P
University of New Mexico Hospital-Lifeguard Air Transport
