RE: ongoing education
We are required to have BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC for the RN's,
skills/procedure lab for chest tube, crico, etc. The RN's who fly scene
are required to have a minimum of EMT-B. We also have to audit ATLS
every other year. Many of the flight team have attended PHTLS and
STABLE. We are required to attend a survival refresher annually and
biannual safety orientation. We fly RN/Paramedic with the majority of
our RN's also holding current EMT-P certifications. The Neonatal team
takes to RN's and adds a Respiratory Therapist depending on the patient
needs. The Maternal RN is required to fly with the RN or paramedic.
The specialty teams the same requirements as listed above with the
exception that they are not required to have ACLS or TNCC. CEN, CCRN,
etc. is not required. If you would like more information please contact
me.

Subject: ongoing education
Hey all,
I am doing some research for a project and would appreciate any
input. What are the continuing education, publication, or research
requirements for your flight programs for paramedics and nurses??? Do
all services require ACLS, PALS/ENPC, NRP and/or a trauma cert. (ATLS,
PHTLS, FNATC, etc.)????? Any help would be appreciated. Please
include your program name and typical crew configuration (all will be
kept in confidence) Thanks
