Derek,
The NAEMT has been campaigning for the last several months to boost it membership roles so that it can lobby for EMS. Also, the National Assoc. of EMS State Directors and National Assoc. of EMS Physicians are working together on an “Advocates for EMS” campaign, so that we are no longer viewed as “others,” in Police, Fire, and other Emergency Personnel. Yes, EMS is young, but we have progressed tremendously learning from other’s mistakes. It will get there, but you are correct, we need to band together, so that we can achieve what needs to be done. And in reference to your comment about LPNs being bettered qualified to work in the ED, ignorance is bliss.
