On the same lines as Mr. Lummus's post, does
anybody have
any access to studies or information that sugests
our supports
the prinicipal of "crew rest" "CRM" and such?
We are attempting
to prove the validity and signifigance of proper
rest. We are not
wanting to sleep all day, everyday, we just need
some concrete
information that provides us a pathway to propose
the signifigance
of proper rest and rehabilitation.
Use for example that our program
operates 12-24-36-48 hour
shifts. Keep in mind that you are employed as a
flight medic/nurse who's sole responsibility and
job description
has been flight duties, and now "suprise" we
need you to work 14
hours of your shift in a hospital unit. Our
flight program is a busy operation,
so the potential for crew members to become
dangerously tired or
fatigued is present.
What does your operation do?
What is acceptable work for your crew outside of
normal flight duties?
How strongly do you believe in proper crew rest and
flight prepardness?
Does management actually believe we go sight
seeing for 2 hours on these missions?
..ok, the last one was critical but I'm
curious...
Thanks for the input.
