Subject: SARS survey
In looking up articles and information regarding SARS for air medical
transport, I've come across many people stating that, "Most air ambulances
won't transport patients with SARS."

The CDC guidelines state that aircraft that re-circulate cabin air are
unsuitable for SARS transport unless there is a HEPA filter in the circuit.
I quote: "Aircraft that re-circulate cabin and flight deck air without HEPA
filtration should not be selected for SARS patient transport".
Our King-Air does re-circulate cabin air whenever the cabin is pressurized
and has no HEPA filter.
Therefore we cannot transport SARS patients.
