I am curious. I looked briefly at the clinical presentation of SARS on the CDC website. Wouldn't it be difficult to diagnose immediately? For instance; what about the presentation of a pt in acute respiratory failure related to pneumonia that you are transporting to a tertiary facility? Do we assume it is SARS based on their presentation and information relayed to us to decide to transport. I might be missing a few links in information. I hope I don't sound ignorant, but I am really interested in understanding this illness and how it pertains to me as a flight nurse.
