Jennifer -

You probably don't realize it, but a lot of people around the country are
watching what's going on with your program very closely. Between the pilot
overtime issue and the aircraft cutbacks, many of us are very interested
in what happens at UC Davis. Pilots across the nation are unfairly being
denied overtime pay, but many are afraid to persue their federal and state
rights.  The pilots at UC Davis are taking the lead in this issue and a
lot of people are interested in the outcome.

The traditional hospital-based flight program model is being replaced by
the stand-alone, independent model in many parts of the country. While
there may be little that can be done to slow this trend, a lot of people
know that their programs may be next for the same types of cutbacks you
are going through. Sharing your experience and information about whats
happening to UC Davis will help all of us understand the issues at hand
and may help people through the transition period.
