Formerly, Lifeflight Miami- Adult Division transported patients on Vads
including the ABioMed Website www.AbioMed.com.   We were the transport
service of choice by the area rep at the time and worked very closely
with her on each transport.  AbioMed at the time was very helpful in
providing inservice on the equipment for our crews and available at
anytime during a transport should he had needed them. 

Our general practice was to fly standard crew configuration RN/Medic and
the sending hospital would usually send one of their perfusionist with
our team to oversee the VAD.   

There are other VAD being used which we had transported as well but most
of our flights were with a patient on an AbioMed system.
