Although the FDA doesn't list etomidate for pediatric use, there have been a number of studies in the last two years that have shown both safety and efficacy in kids. Bayflite has been using etomidate in kids now for at least two years, and we've not had any problems.

Etomidate Users,

Is there a specific age/weight cut off for use in RSI for kids? I remember seeing 10 years of age at one time, but I am finding more and more people using it. Just curious. I am a big fan of Etomidate, and I have only had one incident of myoclonus(sp?) in 7 years. I have never used it with somebody preteen, though.
