Yes, we use it as purely a hypnotic medication for induction before giving the paralytic prior to intubation.  It has a very fast action onset, short duration of action, and is very easy to maintain in the drug box (no special temps, etc.).  It also exhibits very little hemodynamic effects but does cause massiter muscle/ jaw pain as a result of rapid resurgence from anesthesia.

Paramedics in Arizona are just being trained in a study of RSI drug regimen, Nurses may administer the meds per their given program protocol guidelines.
