Re: Bell 407

We operate a Bell 407 in North Texas, and we keep a "height and weight
appropriate policy".
Sounds a little vague and it is, however we have several tall personnel that
are weight appropriate for
their height, and the same goes for some of our shorter employees. We find
a reasonable balance
and try to use simple common sense. If we have a concern of body mass, we
can perform several in
aircraft tests, such as positioning to do invasive procedures without
busting out the windows.

Hope this isn't to vague of an answer, we tried to have a "weight" chart
in the past, and there was
not a reasonable one on the market. Otherwise, if your interested in
setting a "maximum" body
mass in pounds, work with your pilots and weight/balance mandates to figure
a weight mass that
would best suit your aircraft, especially if you operate in a environment
that experiences severe
altitude density. This can become a significant factor if your crew weight
is close to minimizing
any patient weight, just because you have a couple of healthy eaters on
board. In that case
it is best to adjust scheduling so that your larger crew members are not
working together.

Hope this helps, I'm 6'8", and about 235, so I'm well versed in this
discussion...

Good Luck
