This training was provided by BD only this last fall. There have not been
very many insertions yet, and I have not made any myself, although I had two
volunteers.

The PICC insertion protocol is right out of the training handbook provided
by BD. The need for a PICC line is determined by nursing and physician
providers.

QA/QI is handled on a case by case basis at this point.
