Clearly, the primary purpose which the Concern Network and Harp serve, is to share knowledge about accidents, and incidents. In doing so it may prevent potentially fatal or harmful events from occurring, in the future. We are recently, very sadly reminded through Concern of another loss. Our hearts and prayers go the families of the IHC Lifeflight crew, families and program. We are also hopeful and praying for, Stein Rosqvist's safe recovery.
All these kinds of events remind us of the importance of CRM, safety and open clear communication in our programs, even while on the ground.
The events that have occurred at both STAT Flight, NY and Albany Med Flight, NY in recent months are known best by the crews involved. Neither RMH/AM or the associated hospital administrators are sharing this information properly with Concern and Harp. It is both shameful and increasingly dangerous when crews feel safety concerns should not be honestly and openly discussed within there programs and also on Concern or Harp. These actions on the part of the hospitals and helicopter vendors/adminstrators are MORE likely to lead us down the road to potential harm.
So in response to an inquiry about an event at one of these programs.......the facts have not been provided, not even to the program crews involved........
