RE: Calstar to comply with California labor codes

It shouldn't be a political soapbox...that's what www.justhelicopters is all about... maybe we can keep the same pathetic mentality that is very clearly apparent on their website from infecting this valuable resource.
If we allow this great communications tool to become infected with the kind of air medical service staff members that frequent justhelicopters.com.... we might as well all cancel our subscriptions. EMS Medical Professionals are NOT welcome at www.justhelicopters.com... in fact our profession is often considered "MEDICAL BAGGAGE". I wonder if the pilots who are so vocally dissatisfied with their careers in EMS would be happier teaching people how to fly Robinsons at the local FBO for $9.00/hr?
We should all spend a couple minutes reading some of the things that the people whom we entrust our lives and our patients' lives with write about on the bulletin board at justhelicopters.com.....it is very awakening!

Sorry to breech such a sore subject...but, Mr Helmick has raised a very...VERY valid point!

I didn't realize that this web site had become a political soapbox. It
sounds as if some person has a problem that they feel is appropriate to air
on this forum, which I discourage.

Another Domino falls! Starting January 5th Calstar will change their
pilots’ schedules and salary to comply with California state labor
codes. Obviously, there will be many issues to resolve for both sides
in this unfolding endeavor. The important part is that whatever their
misgivings, Calstar will now follow the labor codes that have governed
our industry for a number of years.

Credit should be given to the Calstar CEO for trying to approximate the
existing pilot schedule, unlike the hoops that CJ is forcing the Davis
pilots through. Now, Reach and Henry 1, Mercy Air, Air Methods, Enloe,
Mediflight and others throughout the United States, when will you do
	the right thing?
