Epstein, a Pilot with Geisinger Life Flight in Pennsylvania, was killed Friday
afternoon in an accident involving a compact car and a tractor-trailer on Routes
11-15 in Union Township, Snyder County.
State police at Selinsgrove, PA said Joseph J. Epstein, 41, of Bloomsburg, the driver of the car, died at Sunbury Community Hospital. Northumberland County Coroner James F. Kelley pronounced Epstein dead at 2:25 p.m. at the hospital. Kelley attributed the death to blunt force trauma to the chest. The two passengers in Epstein’s vehicle, a man and a woman, were not identified pending notification of next-of-kin. They were both hospitalized, according to state police. An officer said both were from outside Pennsylvania. Please include him and the entire Life Flight family in your prayers today.
