RE:Crew Rest

I am not trying to create an issue, just trying to keep information straight.

Medical crews are not Flightcrew.

As stated in FAR Part 1, Definitions-

Crewmember- means a person assigned to perform duty in an aircraft during flight time.

Flightcrew member- means a pilot, flight engineer, or flight navigator assigned to duty in an aircraft during flight time.

Any medical person can be a crewmember when assigned duties by the pilot.  Flightcrew have FAA approved training for their position, and are certificated by the FAA.  With the above definitions, medical personnel can and are only considered crewmembers.

PS.  There was a question the other day about the legal standing if any for crewmembers who might be threatened or assaulted.  Look at FAR 91.11, it applies to crewmembers.
