Heaters in Aircraft

Is anyone using some type of 110volt heater that is kept plugged in 
while the aircraft is on the ground.  One of our bases is in an 
unheated hanger here in NY and it gets cold.  The mechanics are not 
fans of plugging in a heater and leaving it unattended.  Any 
suggestions other than keeping the meds off of the aircraft?
