Re: Trauma analgesia

To amplify the arguments in favor of providing analgesia for trauma patients,
we know more these days about the detrimental effects of pain itself to
ignore it. With better agents, e.g., Fentanyl, and vigilant monitoring for
untoward effects, we often see improved perfusion as the adrenergic response
to pain is blunted.

The old argument about clouding the physical exam with narcotics is just
that, an old argument.
