RE: 12 leads
Hi Danny,
I am Gerald Ramirez (Southeastern Emergency Equipment District
Manager, North Texas), Practically the only way to send 12 lead to the
hospital is thru analog phone systems. The use of analog to receiving
stations or fax machines (as your MRL PIC will send to) has been proven
very effective over the use of digital systems. The PIC you have will
send directly to a fax machine, all you need to do is program the number
into the unit. MRL, Physio, and Zoll have all looked at the use of
digital and none of us have been able to come up with a better way than
the tried and true analog (bag phone {3 watts}). Cingular should still
be able to get you the old Motorola bag phones. Along with that, you
will need a dial tone adapter to put on the phone, since cellular phones
don’t generate a dial tone that the sending unit needs in order to send
the info to the receiving station or fax machine. If you need any other
help with this, please feel free to contact me, or have Rod contact me.
Also if you guys are having any problems or questions with the unit
please don’t hesitate to call me and I will be glad help you with it.
Hope you have a great day,
Gerald Ramirez EMT-P

We are looking at sending 12 lead EKG back to our base hospital from the
scene. I'm wondering if anyone is doing this and how they are sending
it,
via cell phone, wireless Internet or some way else? Any help would be
appreciated.
Thanks
