Remote bases--summary

Hey folks,

Here's what I've come up with. Thanks to all of you for your valuable input.

SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE/ WEATHER

1. Deliver boards to EMS units.
2. PR with EMS units
3. Ride-alongs with EMS units.
4. Take PTO
5. Work on hospital ground unit(s).
6. Decompress hospital units and ER
    for specific and defined periods.

DOWN TIME BETWEEN FLIGHTS

1. Work on additional duties/ projects
2. Clean up the place
3. Work on annual QI/ CQI projects.
4. Work on scholarly projects, professional
    organization committees
5. Take care of all the stuff the previous
    crews dumped on us.
6. "Do 4 hours of measurable work if you don't
have a single flight on your shift"
7. Work on outreach projects.
8. Write grants for new technologies
9. Catch up on things.
10. Do monthly continuing education.
11. Do skills with your FC.
12. Rest.

STAFF MEETING AGENDA ITEMS

1. Have Medical Director teach new information,
   research.
2. Schedule guest speaker.
3. Do skills labs

CLINICAL REQUIREMENTS

1. 8 hours required every 2 months
2. Clinical time is a monthly requirement
3. PRN and Management (if flight qualified)
cover for FTE's so they can do clinicals
4. Quarterly skills labs.
5. Annual education requirements: 2 OR rotations,
1 Peds OR rotation, 1 Peds respiratory, 1 PICU,
    1 Peds ground transport, 1 EMS ride-along (RN's),
1 burn unit rotation, plus 2 electives (IABP, OB,
    radiology, etc.)

That's what I can up with. Thanks again for all the
info.
