Our service pays 25.00 per flight on top of
your hourly rate. It was devised 19 years ago as a way for the medic/nurse
to buy life insurance, etc. Now, since it is virtually impossible to to
buy supplemental insurance if you are a flight team member, they have
additionally added an automatic doubling of the flight crew member's hospital
provided life insurance policy right from them, at no cost.
We do take 4 call shifts every matrix (2
months) and are paid 2 bucks an hour when on call. If we are called in, we
are guaranteed 2 hours pay, whether we get to the hospital and are used for an
hour or sent right home, whatever. All hours worked while called back
(including the automatic 2 ) are paid at callback rate which is 1.5x
whether we are at 40 for the week or not.

I am new to this list so this might be something talked about recently,
if so let me know.
I am conducting a survey of programs that pay some type of hazard pay to
staff. I am mainly looking at hospital based programs that pay the
flight staff a transport diff over what other staff of the same credentials
would make in another area of the hospital.
Also, I would be interested to know if you have staff on call from home,
are they paid for this time and if so at what rate?
