Accident rate

Hi

Numerous accidents involving aeromedical programs have been reported
last months.

Unfortunately, few lives have also been lost. God bless them !

I wonder is someone of this list tell me if the accident rate regarding
medical flights is higher than the average accident rate concerning
other civilian flights. And, in the case of the answer will be positive
is there any study conducted about the causes ?

In Europe, we have dozen of aeromedical helicopter programs. Despite the
fact I don't own any official reports, I can tell you that fatal
accidents are very rare. The last one occured one year of two ago when
two French mountain rescue helicopters crashed into elecricity power
lines. In fact the second one answered a call for the first one accident
and crashed in the same place !

Thanks
