RE: CPAP through BVM
If you mean "assisting with ventilation via BVM" (which is basically improvised CPAP) yes that is common practice in my experience here in the US, it is an "Art" sometimes takes a little practice to master.

Subject: CPAP through BVM
I was asked by a medic tonight about the possibility
of administering mask CPAP using a BVM. Our advanced
level paramedics are fully capable of intubating and
administering mechanical ventilation through all age
groups, so I don't have too many concerns about them
getting in over their heads with the mechanics.
They don't, however, have mask CPAP and they have been
very impressed when they have seen it work on CHF in
place of intubation. Does anyone have medics using
BVM CPAP as a means of postponing intubation until the
patient can reach the hospital?
