Casual staff - Northern and Western Canada
Survey (from personal knowledge gained by talking to crews - not necessarily 100% accurate) of the Canadian programs west and north of the Manitoba/Saskatchewan border:
British Columbia: (As Far As I Know)
Victoria, Vancouver (3 aircraft), Prince George, Kelowna, Prince Rupert - 1 shift per 3 months (system-wide minimum for Ground and Air. Very few (if any) casuals on a list for scheduled flight duty)
Alberta:
Medicine Hat - (G+A, 2 aircraft, ALS/BLS) = 4x12 hr shifts
per 3 months AFAIK
STARS Calgary (all casual staff) - RN =
Paramedic =
Calgary - (ALS/BLS) no restrictions AFAIK
Calgary NICU team - RN =
- RT = no casuals AFAIK
Calgary PICU team - MD = No Restrictions
- RN =
STARS Edmonton - (all casual staff) RN =
Paramedic =
Edmonton - (ALS/BLS) No restrictions AFAIK
Edmonton NICU team - RN =
- RT = no casuals AFAIK
Edmonton PICU team - MD = No Restrictions
- RN =
Lac La Biche - (G+A, ALS/BLS) no restrictions AFAIK
Slave Lake - (G+A, ALS/BLS) no restrictions AFAIK
Grande Prairie - (G+A, ALS/BLS) 4x12 hr shifts per 3 moths AFAIK
Peace River - (G+A, 2 aircraft, ALS/BLS) 4x12hr shifts per 6 months
Ft. McMurray - RN = no casuals AFAIK
Paramedic = no casuals AFAIK
Ft. Vermillion - (G+A, ALS/BLS) no restrictions AFAIK
High Level - (G+A ALS/BLS) no restrictions AFAIK
Saskatchewan:
Saskatoon SK (2 aircraft) - RN's (Air only) =
Paramedics (G+A) = no casuals on flight duty
Yukon:
Whitehorse - (G+A) RN's = no restrictions,
(G+A) 'Paramedics' = BLS only, no restrictions AFAIK
Northwest Territories:
Inuvik - (RN) (Air + Hospital) = no restictions
Yellowknife (3 aircraft) - RN = 5x24 shifts per 3 months
Paramedic = 5x24 shifts per 3 months
Nunavut:
Cambridge Bay - (RN) = No Casuals
Baker Lake - (RN) = No Casuals AFAIK
Rankin Inlet - (RN) = No Casuals AFAIK
Iqaluit - No Casuals (2 aircraft), All part-time (from B.C.)
EMA-3 and EMA-2(T)
