Re: History of Choppers in Medicine



G'day Ramesh.

First of all good luck with your research.

I understand you dislike some commonly used terms but if
you look up the meaning of your disliked terms in the dictionary
they describe what 'we' do very well.

Like others, I worked hard to get the title Flight Paramedic. The
term is understood by just about everyone. I did a quick
survey at work ( Melbourne Paramedics ) and nobody could
figure out what a "transit care professional" was. When pressed
for an answer the most common answer was they thought it was
a technical term for a hospital orderly. When I explained and
showed them a copy of your message, I got a strange look and
something along the lines of ' you have got to be kidding"
( no offence intended ).When I tell the person in the street I am
a Flight Paramedic nearly 100% of them know what I do, so I
see no need for change where there doesnt seem to be a need.
