We have a remote base
approximately 120 miles from our home base. It takes about 2 hours to
drive and we are paid for the travel time in both directions from base to
base. Our employer also supplies 2-3 cars for the trip, both from our home
base and our remote base city where we have several employees. Those
employees are also required to travel to our home base to work. If a
company car is not available the hospital will reimburse the employee, I think
it's about 80 cents per mile, but I don't recall
exactly.
We use a combination of
1-12 hour and 1-24 shifts per week. Meeting or clinical time makes up the
difference to get us close to 40 hours (OT is a dirty word, of
course).
I hope that
helps.
