RE: Fixed Wing concerns
Hi,
This issue could be a small concern or a rather large one. Most often is
the case that it is "oil canning." As the pressure differential
increases the metal begins to move. This is expected and occurs in all
pressurized aircraft. Much like happens to an oil can if you turn it
upside down and let oil drain out. The can will begin to cave in on
itself. Depending on what's oil canning will determine the severity.
Most times the noise is from an unsecured floorboard that needs a few
extra screws.
This noise happening at the same time leads me to believe that it is oil
canning. If it were a structural defect it would be more random in
nature and upon takeoff and landing. By all means have your mechanics do
a little more digging to see if they can find it. If not, take it to an
authorized king Air center.
If you would like to talk more about the issue, please feel free to give
me a call.

Subject: Fixed Wing concerns
Hello all,
If there are any AME's with exp. on BE-200 on the list, or fixed wing
medical crew with flight exp with same, please reply off-line re:
concern with unexplained LOUD "Snap" or "Pop" noise/vibration felt
through floorboards/heavy boots (located approx 4' behind spar) as
aircraft passes through 4PSI cabin differential. Repeatedly occurs,
local AME's unable to find source. Medical crew concerened about
possible metal fatigue/crease reverting to original shape from internal
pressure rise leading to eventual pressure hull
breach/decompression/possible significant tear.
Fly Safe.
